Job Title

A Leadership Team Focused on the Whole Young Person

Our team understands that developing a successful young person requires more than developing a successful athlete.

Young people need adults who consistently show up. They need mentors who will challenge them. They need coaches who expect accountability. They need people who will celebrate their accomplishments while also asking about their grades, their goals, their choices, and what they want their future to look like. That is the responsibility our leadership team embraces.

At Paxton Scholars & Sports Academy, we intentionally connect athletics with education, mentorship, personal development, and preparation for life beyond high school.

We are not simply asking: “How good can this young person become at basketball?”

We are also asking: Who are they becoming? What opportunities can we expose them to? How can we strengthen their confidence, discipline, academic performance, decision-making, and leadership? And how do we help them see possibilities for their future that extend far beyond the basketball court?

Leadership Beyond the Court

If You Only See Basketball, You’re Missing the Bigger Picture.

At Paxton Scholars & Sports Academy, basketball may be where the relationship begins, but it is not where our work ends.

Our leadership team believes that sports can be one of the most powerful ways to reach young people, build trust, create a sense of belonging, and open doors to opportunities they may not have explored otherwise. Some young people walk through our doors because they love basketball.

And that is enough to get the conversation started. Once they are here, we can introduce them to something much bigger: academic achievement, mentorship, leadership development, college and career pathways, S.T.E.A.M. exploration, financial literacy, personal development, and a stronger vision for their future.

Basketball is our bridge.

The future of the young person is our mission.
